My review of 2025

The following blog post is part of my New Years Day post summarising 2025 and I think is the perfect way to start off our blog:

2025 has been incredible, Simon and I started Impact League this year with a plan to get hold of some Pokémon TCG products and sell them as cheap as possible and any profit would go to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). What we didn’t expect is the demand on Pokémon would go stratospheric and our little mid-week whatnot streams and Saturday car boots would turn into a market stall, then a double stall, online website and now a physical store. With this rapid growth and for legal reasons (which are ridiculous) we couldn’t structure ourselves as a charity so the business ‘Impact League TCG’ was created but the motto didn’t change. We continue to sell our products at the lowest of margins and most of the team is made up by volunteers who do not get paid a salary. As the owner I still have a day job and so do not take any profits from the company either.

Now naturally we have much higher costs than we did at the beginning and we have to reinvest in the company to continue to grow and provide the best products and services to our customers, however we will continue to always give as much money as possible to GOSH not just this year but always. Because I can never thank them enough for their support for my little Finn.
